I Wanna See You was recorded on our first record, a 45 rpm single (yep, real vinyl!). This song was the flip side on the single, the other one being Love Me Today. It was written for my first serious girlfriend, Janis, who was a big part of my life for many years during our late adolescence and early adulthood--an important and formative time in our lives. I wrote it shortly after we split up (sadly, but amicably), after our worlds had diverged (a natural consequence of growing up, I suppose) and recorded and released it a few months later. Sadly, she passed away in January 2014. We still have a number of copies of the original record, if anyone is interested, and we plan to re-release both songs in digital format in the near future, and make them available via CD Baby, iTunes, and a number of other digital music retailers.
So this one's for you, Boo. I'm a better person for having known you, and the world is a better place because you were in it. Just as this song will live forever now that it's been launched into the vastness of cyberspace, so too will you live in the hearts of all those whose lives you've touched. Rest in peace.
